First poblanos are forming finally, about 39 days after I planted the seedling. The first jalapeno appeared much sooner, by the 27th day or so after planting the seedling. Still no harvestable peppers yet, but getting closer!

First Poblano Forming
Jalapeños are popping out nicely, and finally am getting some flowers on the poblano, which should mean peppers forming soon.
Muchos Jalapeños
Future Poblano
First tomatos emerging. This is the first time I have ever tried a container tomato. I got Celebrity on the recommendation of the nursery. The only time I have attempted to grow tomatos in the past were in-ground, and all tomatos succumbed to the dreaded Blossom End Rot. Fingers crossed…
Got an Earthbox for my birthday, which was last weekend, so I was behind the spring planting curve to begin with. Want to try squash in it, so I thought I would head down to the local nursery and grab some seedlings and be on my way. Well, there were some sqaush seedlings there, but they did not look so healthy, and they did not have any of the recommended squash varieties for Travis County. So I spent another day hopping to several nurseries in the vicinity, to no avail. Ended up ordering seeds from Johnny’s Seeds, which means that I now have to wait for the seeds to ship, and then wait for them to germinate. Grrr.
First baby jalapenos are forming, about 1/2 inch long (two of them). This is my first attempt at container gardening. Eager to see how things turn out.
Still pretty small
First pepper
First two peppers! And an ant (see it?)
So now I’m wondering if ants will harm the pepper plant. Will have to investigate. They are small black ants. Not too many on there.
