2013 Tomatos In

Written by Chris on April 8th, 2013

Barely have had time to think about tomatos this spring, but managed to get started this weekend. Amended the garden with the same stuff as last year: two bags of Natural Gardener Revitalizer compost, 8 lb dolomite, 3 lb of garden tone organic fertilizer. Got four plants in yesterday (4/7): Sungold, Sweet 100, Valencia Orange (new variety for us here at PP) and Lemon Boy. No decent Early Girls at the nursery, so will seek those out and plant those this week.

Sounds like you are off to a great start. Our favorites are the little yellow tomatoes. Would like to try a different variety of yellow smalls, any suggestions

I found the variety “Black Krim” heirloom tomato plants at HEB, planing them in large pots. I’m glad I found your blog and will be following it this season. Years ago, I planted “Lemon Boy” and that was the best homegrown tomato we ever tasted.
