Tomato Update–Plants Still Alive!

Written by Chris on May 11th, 2010

That’s about all I can say for the tomatoes at this point. They aren’t doing a whole lot, but at least they aren’t dead! There are a couple of tiny cherry tomatoes on one plant, but that’s it. And lots of the flowers have fallen off, as you can see from the first picture below.

I know it’s possible to grow good tomatoes here as I saw some this past weekend at a small community garden–one small raised bed with six or so very healthy tomato plants, all bearing loads of (still green) fruit.

Need to find out their secret!

  1. Darth Paul says:

Seaweed in compost tea as a foliar spray should increase the bloom vigor as long as the temps remain below 100.

Thanks Darth, may give that a try. I’m so paranoid about fungus that so far I’ve been too scared to get the leaves wet!
